About Me

Lynette Tay

I started out learning piano at the age of 5 or 6 in a music school before proceeding to private lessons at age 7. Just like how many students started back then, it wasn't the child's choice in taking up the instrument. Strange enough, that was what ignited my passion for music.

Ever since, I've been involved in almost everything related to music in school - from choir to the Chinese Orchestra and Guzheng Ensemble.

Learning piano for more than 10 years, I've heard of friends with encounters of teachers who were very strict and quite demoralizing. My experience was no different from theirs.

However, what kept my passion for music going was seeing the patience, encouragement and love coming from my all my music instructors and new piano teacher.

Greatly inspired by all my teachers, I apply what I've learnt from them during my lessons. I firmly believe in building rapport with my students. Respect, understanding, trust and communication between a piano teacher and student are also important as we journey together, on a fun and enjoyable musical adventure!

I would like to thank you for your time in viewing my website, and sincerely hope you will consider engaging in my services.
